Can't open .mdb file

R

rod

I get the error message "unrecognized data format"
I click on help on that error message and I am told that
it may not be a Microsoft Jet database. It is I used the
file less than a week ago in Access. Can anyone tell me
what invalid header information is and could that be my
problem. It also mentions something about a commit which
is greek to me. I am using Access 97, I can get some of
my files open but not this one and I really need this
file!

Hello Rod,

try these steps

Please work only with a copy of your file.

1. You can try the latest JetComp from Microsoft.
2. You can try to repair your Database with a
higher Access Version ( 2000, XP ).
3. You can import your corrupt database in
a new empty database.
4. You can try ODBC to connect to your Database

If all fail we can recover this file for you ( see our website )

Best Regards

Hi,

I think you need to check your mdb files first. If necessary, you may try Advanced Access Repair at http://www.datanumen.com/aar/ This tool is rather useful in salvaging damaged Access MDB files. Hope this helps.
