Can't open files

I just started having a problem opening files. All I get when I double click
on an excel file anywhere is a Excel opened, no blank spreadsheet or the file
i accessed. any ideas

The behaviour you decribe is consistent with the accessed file having been
(inadvertently?) saved in hidden mode.

You can confirm and resolve this by selecting the Unhide option on the
Window menu.

If this is successful, simply save the file (unhidden!) and normal
operations will be restored.

Of course, if this suggestion does not correspond with your situation, post
back.
