Can't open any files

When we try to open Excel 2003, we keep getting the message
"Microsoft Excel The file cannot be opened because your
virus scanner has detected a problem with the file."
This is happening at start up, before any workbooks are
opened. We re-installed Office 2003, but are still having
the same issue. Any help is appreciated!

try turning off real-time protection OR the Office-plug
in (if it is symantec).
 
I have the exact same problem but this fix did work for me. Is there any
other solution to this?

Same problem.... anyone have the solution? I cant believe this has not been addressed yet by MS......

Can we get a fix for this already! People have been tring to get a fix for this since NOV!!!
