I have a few physical disk drives in my system and even more logical drives.
Disk 0 - Drive C (Basic, boot)
Disk 1 - Drives D & E (Basic, data 1 & 2)
Disk 2 - Drives F,G,H & I (Dynamic, Data 3,4,5 & 6)
Disk 3 - Drive O (Dynamic, Data 7)
Throw in a Zip Drive, couple of DVDs and a flash Key for good measure here
and there, and I have quite a few drives. All of these removeable media are
above C & I in drive letters. It's the way I work...
However, one day, for some reason, Disk 2 has gone and moved itself up one
drive letter for each partition (G, H, I, J) and there is no F drive shoved
in to explain.
I went to Disk Management to change the drive letters back (first G down to
F) and upon reboot, the drive is back at G. I have done this numerous times
since the G drive letter is occupied, I can't shift down the other letters
without reboot. But, after I do reboot, XP will have nothing of my decisions
and will put the drives back, almost mocking my will...
It's really messing me up here.
Currently, I am using both Nero 7 and Roxio Easy Media Creator 8. I tell you
this because they do sort of mess with things (CD-ROMs not showing up) as I
have read from other threads.
Also, same day, Norton AntiVirus 2006 seems to have gone on this Windows
Installer uninstall jag upon reboot. Relevant?
HELP!
