Can't logon

M

Mac Davis

My neighobr's secretary swears that her stand-alone W2K Machine has not
allowed her to logon until 11:10 A.M. the past two days.

When I get to the office all is well and she's logged on.

She has used the same machine, logon, and password for the past two years.

She is a bit flaky and I expect she's doing something strange (we've talked
about caps lock / num lock) but I want to rule out bugs and viri as the
cause.
Does anyone know of a bug or a virus that would manifest itself this way?

Thanks,

Mac

Even a stand alone machine can have time restrictions on a users account,
but that would not be the norm. You can use the net user username command to
check the logon hours allowed. I would also look at the Event Viewer on that
computer for any error ID's that may help pinpoint the problem. Make sure
also that a different acount can indeed logon earlier to rule out a
machine/operating system problem. --- Steve
