Can't Login to FTP Site

After applying 832894, I cannot access FTP sites using
ftp://userid[email protected] in address bar. It
logs on anonymously if that site accepts anonymous, but
the File/Login As is not there to login with userid.

KB834489 says 832894 does not affect other protocols
(except HTTP and HTTPS). Is there anyway to login to FTP
sites after applying security patches to IE 6 SP1?

Fix if This problem occurs after you apply the 832894 security update
(MS04-004) or the 821814 hotfix.

Web server closes (or resets) the initial connection request.
