Can't log on

My wife's pc won't let us log on to Windows XP. We get an error message:
"DLL.C\Windows\System32\imm32.dll is not a valid Windows image. Please check
this against your installation diskette" The mouse is frozen. I tried logging
in "Safe Mode with a Command Prompt" and get the same message and get the
same frozen mouse. Can someone help withthis.

Don't have a fix but my daughter's computer has the same problem. Were you
able to find a cure. Thanks.
