I'm trying to log into a school resource site to view review sheets and misc. I hit the log in button and it takes me directly to a "perfectnav" website, I think it's default search website or something like that. I've logged in before, and had no problems. I'm using IE6 and XP. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

perfectnav:

Install and run SpyBot Search & Destroy or Lavasoft's Ad-Aware.

Frank,
I clicked on one of the links in your messsage and my explorer shut down, and now when I try to log in on the school page it shuts down also. I ran Spybot, and fixed problems but still can't get in. Do you know why it seems to go through that perfectnav website? I hope I gave you enough info. Thank

Sounds like maybe perfectnav isn't the only malware you have installed. Use
the tools here:
Dealing with Unwanted Malware, Parasites, Toolbars and Search Engines
http://mvps.org/winhelp2002/unwanted.htm

Note that AdAware and SpyBot S & D will each catch some things the other
won't. Also, each needs to be updated with the program's update function
before every use, even when just downloaded. There's also a lot more to do
than just those two programs. CWShredder is also available here:
http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/regs_edits/cwshredder.zip
**Post your HijackThis log to
http://forums.spywareinfo.com/ or the Spyware forum at
http://forum.aumha.org/ for expert analysis, not here.**
Alternative download pages for Ad-Aware, Spybot, HijackThis and CWShredder
may be found on this page:
http://aumha.org/a/parasite.htm.
If trying everything at that site does not fix the problem please post back
in the same thread.
