Can't search. Can't open certain sites

Win XP SP2, IE6 SP2 updates up-to-date, Router, cable modem. Can open IE to
MSN home. Can connect to most sites. MSN Search doesn't work. Google and
Yahoo OK. foxnews and foxsports links and websites won't open (connection
error window). NAV scan clean. Spybot and Adaware clean (though have removed
spyware recently). HOST file just lists the numerous spybot blocked sites.
ipconfig /flushdns didn't help. hijackthis log looks clean. Cleared IE
history, cache, temp files. Reset IE defaults. UNchecked enable third party
extensions and rebooted, Didn't help. I'm beginning to think I have a corrupt
file or dll or my registry entries are incorrect after removing spyware
previously. What to do next? Thanks. Weeble
