When I try to get new email, it asked me for my password. It doesn't accept
it though. I can log in via yahoo.com.
Any ideas?

Go to Tools, Accounts, select that mail account, Properties, Servers.
Make sure that "Log on using Secure Password Authentication" is not enabled.

The only other possibility is interference from an antivirus program.
Which antivirus are you running? Some of them cause problems with
Windows Mail over time. As a minimum, email scanning in the antivirus
should be turned off, although that may not be sufficient to eliminate all
bad effects. In a worst case scenario, your antivirus may need to be
uninstalled/reinstalled or replaced.

Email scanning in any antivirus should be disabled, for reasons
explained here:
http://thundercloud.net/infoave/tutorials/email-scanning/index.htm

As a possible temporary fix, delete that corrupted mail account,
restart Windows Mail, then recreate the account.

If still no improvement, consider upgrading to Windows Live Mail,
because it is less prone to suffering bad effects from overly intrusive
antivirus programs: http://download.live.com/wlmail

McAfee antivirus is among the top three troublemakers for Windows Mail.
But before we explore that angle, let me ask you some questions about
the mail account. Is the account a free one with the email address ending
in @yahoo.com, or is it one that is partnered through your ISP, and the
address part after the @ symbol represents your ISP (AT&T)?

Has this account worked previously in Windows Mail?

Gary the OP was here 5 days ago with the post that I add below, as you will
see it is AT&T, and she said it was working after making changes.

Sure looks like McAfee to me too.
