For some reason, my computer will not let me log in, using
the same Username and Password I have had for years.

I am hoping that I do not have to reinstall Win2000 and
lose all of my files/data

Any thoughts?

Caps Lock on/off?

....danny

Checked for that too.

The ERROR MESSAGE reads:

The System could not log you on. Make sure your Username
and domain are correct, then type your password again....

Also should mention that I do not see the DOMAIN input
line any more.

If you dont see the Domain line did you see a line call
Option that pop-up the Domain line? If not your computer
will need to be log as administrator by your network admin
and add again on your domain. You will not lost anythings.

Yes, there are a few thoughts, some of which should be yours.

- If you can no longer see the "Domain" line then your machine
was moved from a domain logon to a local logon. You must
ask your network administrator to re-register the machine
on the domain, or to give you a local account name / password.

- If this is your machine then you need to plan ahead. How many
sets of keys do you have for your car? Why more than one set?
How many admin accounts do you have for your PC? Is it
safe to survive on one? Especially if you took no precautions
to save its password?

- All important files must be backed up to an independent medium
every week. Many people shrug this off, until they get a strong
incentive to reconsider their position: Either the threat of losing
all their data, or the actual loss of everything. We see them all
the time in this newsgroup. It's a lesson that many people find
very painful to learn.
