Cant Log In...HELP!

I have Vista Ultimate and after i did the install it was perfect... But when
i restarted things got messed up. Now whenever i boot up the computer my
screen will go to powersave mode on the loging screen before i can see
anything. I hear that sound but no image apears. I can log on in safe mode.
Any ideas?

i have a ATI RADEON X800 Pro but the driver would not install in safemode it
says "failed to load detection driver" and then when i close that it says
"failed to find any installable components." (i have the correct version of
the driver to (the 64 bit))
 
If you boot with the Vista DVD there are a number of repair options that
might help.
