can't load CD-ROM Driver

I receive the following message when I try to load the
device drivers for my CD-ROM "Windows cannot load the
device driver for this hardware. The driver may be
corrupted or missing. (Code 39)" I have the original
software that came with the computer when I bought it,
but because the CD does not work, I can't use it. I have
tried uninstall and reinstall and I get the same message
as above. I have tried to find the driver on the web to
down load from there, but can't find it. Any help?
Thank you in advance......Rodney
