Can't Launch Access

I've installed Office 2003 on a Compaq Presario. All Office Programs (Word,
Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook) work just fine except for Access. When I try
to launch Access, it says that it is gathering information and preparing to
install; then it tells me to wait while Windows configures Office
Professional 2003. Then the dialog box disappears and nothing else happens
and Access never gets loaded into memory. Has anyone experienced this and
found a solution?

The manual change to the Registry solved the problem. How would the registry
reference have changed to point to c:\Windows\System32 and a different .dll
file?

Although I can now launch Access; I cannot import an Excel list because it
says it can't find and Installable ISAM. I changed the Win32 reference from:
c:\Windows\System32\msexcl40.dll, to: the reference you gave me. Do I need to
add a key back to the registry? If so, where and what should it be.
