Can't install XP fax.

S

skipster

I've tried several times to go to Control Panel,
Add/Remove, Windows Components to add the XP fax, but it
doesn't work. I seems that the modem(s) are not
recognized. I've tried downloading different programs,
but it seems that the original one on XP ought to simply
work. It doesn't.

Can you offer any advice?

Thanks,

Is your modem in the list of Fax-Compatible modems?

You must have an analog fax modem compatible with Windows XP Fax (see the
Windows
XP Hardware Compatibility List (HCL) at the link above) and an analog phone
line in order to use Windows XP Fax.

However to install fax you need not have always have a
modem on the local machine as you can use the shared fax
printer from another server operating system like Windows
Server 2003. Are you saying that you are not able to
install fax it-self? Or are you saying that you are having
problems using fax after it is installed successfully.

In any case please give more details as to what you are
doing and how the system is responding.
