Cant install speaker volume controll in taskbar

When I go to my sound properties in control panel I am told I must install
the volume control on taskbar from the MS XP CD but nowhere in the intall
paths, (using add programs, browsing cd, running intall components from CD)
seem to have a volume or speaker component. We are talking windows Home XP

I had the same problem, went to Microsoft's home page to look fo
support. After sifting through a couple of pages I landed on this
