Can't install SP1 in XP Pro

I have two problems after downloads some updates off the XP Windows update page. #1. When I download and try to install SP1, I recieve an error message saying the cd key I used to install XP Pro was invalid? and SP1 can't be installed (not OEM version). #2. Windows update now shows not updates available and that error code referes to the language in my Internet Explorer 6. (I used the self help troubleshooter for this and recived this "fix" which did not work).

It sounds like you are using a pirate key so you cannot install SP1a (1a is
the current pack). You may now have your windows update effectively
disabled.
You will need to purchase a legal copy of XP, or if you think you have a
legal copy contact MS.

I do have a legal copy of XP Pro. This didn't happen until I downloaded all of the other updates first since SP1 wants to archive files........

Like I said, I think you need to give Microsoft a call.
