From a previous post:
- go to the windows\inf directory (this directory is hidden, so either use a
command prompt or set the folder options to show hidden files)
- check that printupg.inf is there
- delete printupg.pnf
..pnf are a binary form of the INF, basically a cache, it gets regenerated
the first time someone tries to open the INF programmatically. If this .pnf
was corrupted or truncated for whatever reason, the Add Printer Wizard can't
check on whether the driver is blocked and fails.
