Can't Install or Upgrade to .NET Framework 2.0

I am implementing ACT! 2009 Prem for a client which requires .NET Framework
2.0. On one of the client computers (Win XP Pro SP2), when I try to update or
upgrade it to .NET 2.0 from 1.1 with Hotfix, I get the famous Windows blue
screen and the computer resboots! I got the same reaction with this computer
when I tried
to update or upgrade it from 1.1 to 3.5.

So, how do I fix this so that I can install .NET 2.0? Should I uninstall
..NET Framework totally and then install 1.1, then 2.0 or 3.5 or what?

administrator,
in xp,go to run, type:cmd In cmd type: CHKDSK C: /F Agree to restart, type:
netsh Winsock reset Type:EXIT Restart pc..Once back in xp,install 913047

If I were in your shoes, for starters, I would need to know if the client's
PC had an application that was using NET Framework 1.1. And, I would need
to know if that application was actively open or not, not necessarily
visible.

Neither .NET 2.0 nor .NET 3.0 are upgrades to .NET 1.1. Instead, they add
more features. So, if all your application needs in .NET 2.0, then that is
all you need to install.

However, since it is not desirable to have a crash when you install either
..NET 2.0 or .NET 3.0 on a machine with .NET 1.1, you need to supply the
error code for the crash. Without the error code, all one can do is guess.
Turn off automatic reboot from a crash to get the needed information.
