Can't install Adobe Distiller

I've just had to wipe and rebuild one of our PCs (XP SP2), and it had Adobe
Acrobat V5.05 on it. Unfortunately, no matter what I do, when I install this,
it doesn’t install the “distillerâ€, which is the bit that lets you convert
Word docs to pdf.

I've removed and reinstalled several times, tried all the suggestions on the
Adobe website, but have given up – which is not something I do very often.

Is this a known issue? I can’t find anything about it here...

Thanks

Do you have a Postscript printer driver installed first. Acrobat usually
complains about.

The Adobe Acrobat forums would be a more plentiful source of information...

Thanks Mike... yes, I have. And I've also just registered and posted on Adobe
- I avoided that for a while, as I can only describe their Support features
as user-hostile... at least here, I know people will try to help me ;-)

The PDFplanet forums are another possibility.
