I can't get around the logon screen for w2k on a laptop
I'm trying to get data off of. Something in the os must
have gotten botched up. F8 when prompted on boot does
not give me any option to get around this.
I don't have a floppy drive for this unit at this point,
and cd drive doesn't appear to be working right. Is
there any bootup key sequence that can get me around this?

If you can't boot to floppy or CD, and you're only trying to grab data off
of the machine, why not just pull the hard drive(s) out and install them in
another (working) box? Go into Disk Management, re-scan for new disks, and
copy out the data that way.
