I am using XP Pro on a desktop and have a small home
network (3-4 computers) using a dell wireless router as a
DHCP server. My desktop is not able to obtain an IP
address from the router. It used to be able to and quit
for no know reason. Info below...

-TCP/IP is set to obtain IP/DNS automatically.
-I do have link light on both my NIC and router port.
-Pinging 127.0.0.1 is good.
-Replaced NIC. No help.
-I have tried to assign a unique static address in range
of network. Using the router as gateway, same subnet and
same DNS as all other computers on network are using.
-I have hooked up a laptop to same cable and obtain
address fine.
-I get NO address at all. Not even 169.254.x.x.

I'm lost on what to try next. Anyone with thoughts is
appreciated.

See "Windows Update Killed My Network Connectivity" below. IT is the same
issue.
