I am recording some family movies to dvd from my vcr. The video portion
captures fine but I can't get the audio to work. I have the audio
outputconnected from my vcr to the audio input into my computer (the red and
white connectors)

I tried what the tutorial said to do but the only options I had were"realtek HD digital input" or "line in Mic" - I chose the latter becuase I 'm recording analog from my vcr. Anyway it still doesn't give me any audio when I capture video- it's really frustrating because it 's a brand new computer and I bought it so I could plug in the cables and do this...Any other suggestions that might solve the problem?
Thanks

The solution that seems to work whenever suggested is to purchase a Dazzle80
and hook your VCR into that. The Dazzle hooks into your computer via
Firewire and basically allows WMM to capture as a digital signal (which is
preferred) instead of analog. Otherwise if you have a camcorder that allows
pass-through and can hook the VCR into that you get the same effect.
