I have a VCR connected to my hp dvd movie writer dc5000 connected to my WinXP
SP2 PC. VCR connected via s-video and audio (red & white).
I can capture video & audio through the dc5000 with the ArcSoft ShowBiz
software that came with the dc5000.
I can capture video (no audio yet) through the dc5000 with Roxio Easy Media
Creator 7.
However, the dc5000 is not recognized as a Video Capture Device in Windows
Movie Maker 2.1.

The Movie Maker help file (under "Capturing Video") states...

"You can capture video and audio to your computer by using Windows Movie
Maker. To begin capturing, a video capture device must be connected properly
and detected on your computer by Windows Movie Maker. Some audio and video
capture devices and sources that you can use include a digital video (DV) or
analog camera or VCR, a Web camera, a TV tuner card, or a microphone."

- The help file lists "analog camera or VCR" as acceptable devices.
- I have other capture utilities that can capture video/audio through the
dc5000, so I'm sure it's "connected properly".

- The issue is revolves around this fact..."device must be detected by Movie
Maker".
