Can't get any game servers to advertise

Hello I am running win xp pro and like the subject says I am having
trouble getting my game servers to advertise. I connect via pppoe on
the win xp pppoe connection. I do not have any firewall enabled or the
firewall in xp on.My friends are able to connect via i.p. in game. I
am having issues with all games (battlefield 1942,ut2003,halo). No
matter what I seem to do I can't get them to advertise in game or thru
gamespy. Please Help.

Do you run a home network? The problem I have is that i
have 2 pcs linked with a crossover cable and use internet
connection sharing through windows. The internet
connection sharing part causes the problem due to it
allocating internal IPS to both of the computers. The
easiest solution is to unplug the LAN cable so the IP
address goes back to normal.
