can't get an update to "take"

I have tried to install the "Critical Update for Windows
Media Player Script Commands (KB828026)" update something
like 20 times. Every time it claims that the update was
installed properly but sure enough, the next time I log
in it re-appears as a "new" update.

What can I do to make this update "take" so that I do not
have to re-install it every day.

My software is OEM so Microsoft will not talk to me. Go
figure......

Please reply to (e-mail address removed) since once I leave
this message I am not sure how to get back to read
