Cant get a new XP Home notebook (centrino) on to existing wi-fi network

Hi guys,

We have a small wi-fi lan set up at our home office. We have an old
Toshiba Satellite notebook with a Netgear PC-MCIA Card (WG 511 54 MBPS
Wireless PC Card). We also have a DSL connection coming into this
notebook and there are two desktops connected to this Toshiba notebook
(using Netgear USB ). The Toshiba has Internet Connection Sharing
enabled and everything works just fine as far as these three systems
are concerned.

Ours is a p2p network and the workgroup is called "Workgroup"(what else
!)

We have now bought a new Compaq Notebook (M2000) with a Centrino chip.
In spite of all our efforts we are unable to bring this Compaq on to
our existing wi-fi network. We tried using the inbuilt XP WI-fi
configuration utilty and it did not work. It would show that the Compaq
was connected to the network but we are unable to see the Compaq on the
network, and the Compaq is unable to see any machine on the workgroup
either. We then downloaded the Intel wi-fi config utility but still
same result! Just as in the existing desktops, IP addresses on the
Compaq are set to be obtained dynamically (DHCP)

Also, we are unable to access the Internet from the Compaq

What are we doing wrong??

Would be happy to provide any other info that might help resolving this
issue, and of course will be eternally grateful for solutions

Sorry, should have mentioned that the Toshiba notebook and the 2
desktops run Win2K Professional
