Can't find a service to disable it

Hi - I know this is a vista forum but I've tried the ASUS forum and like
most of the sections of their site, it's too slow to function or comes up
with empty links...so..... I have an asus service that shows up in task
manager called ASUS ACPI Cneter (yes center spelled incorrectly) -
occasionally I get a program that says "i am service" - that is part of
acpi, very poorly designed program. I can't locate where this is starting -
I removed PC probe which some recomended, I've checked the registry, nothing
under Run, and searched for aacenter.exe and all of them aren't in startup
locations in registry... I've checked services and can't locate anything to
disable - where can this program be starting from, I'm sick of having to go
into task manager to stop it.

Thanks.

Look in Computer Management > Device manager.
In Device Manager, click View > Show Hidden Devices.
Expand "Non Plug and Play Drivers" and check for an entry there, and delete it if found.
Or:
run regedit and go here:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services
and find the entry and delete it and reboot.

He may also have to disable ACPI in the BIOS, else it'll keep showing up in
Device Manager.
