cant enable tcp/ip on my 1394 net adapter

I had some trouble with my mode. (Westell-Bellsouth DSL)
its working fine but I can't get the 1394 net adapter to
enable the tcp/ip. Any suggestions?

Are you sure you can connect your dsl to a firewirecard?
Don't you need an ethernetcard?

Or maybe to a USB port? USB and Firewire ports are different.

I've never used mine, but it should work just like setting up any NIC
using the Connection Wizard. The wizard should allow selection of the
adapter just like any other NIC that is correctly installed. It is not
disabled in Device Manager, perhaps?
