Cant enable firewall

I am using XP SP3. I cant get the firewall switched on. When trying to enable
the firewall in control panel, I get the message; "cant display firewall
settings".
I was previouly using a third party firewall - Zone alam, but have since
uninstalled it. I am also using the free version AVG anti virus.

ZA may have left behind some remnants.
Try to re-install ZA and then use either:
Uninstall/Remove ZA from your OS and DON'T re-install!

Reboot.
