can't edit Screen Saver - help

I have one particular WinXP PC that won't let me change the screen
saver setting when logged in as the user. I can change it in admin, but
then I'm changing the admin's screen saver, not the users. I keep
trying to change the "Turn Monitor Off after 20 Minutes" to "Never",
but then it says Access denied. Is there any way to change this?

What exactly happens when you try to change the screensaver? (setting is grayed out? etc)

It let's me select Never, but then a window pops up that says:
Power Policy Manager Unable to Set Active Policy
Access Denied.

Screen saver or Power options. I believe altering the power options requires admin privileges.

Hi,
I would like to know how to remove the 'None' option from the screen saver
drop down box so the users will be forced to use one screen saver.

Thanks

Venkat,

That's not possible. If you want to force using a screensaver, set a Policy.

Ramesh,
I tried using the group policy to have a screen saver, but now the users
cannot change the screen saver to their choice. We would like the users
choose their screen saver but not select none to avoid the monitor screen
being burnt out.

Venkat,

Then you may want to alter the Screensaver at every user logon using a
script or a Batch file.
