I see posts from people having problems with QuickTime but I can't even
download it. Running under XP Pro, fairly new installation. When I try to
install Quicktime from the Apple site, I get to the web page that says "your
downoad will start automatically". Usually after that absolutely nothing
happens. A few times I have got the download dialogue and completed that,
then again nothing happens. This has been going on for a few days, I can't
believe the Apple site is down or too busy all that time. It is not just
slow, I have NetMeter installed and I can see that no packets are arriving
(and as far as I can see, none are being sent either). I have no problems
downloading in general, for example I downloaded the updated Real Player
this morning. Quicktime was shown in the Downloaded Program Files folder
but as it obviously didn't work I tried deleting it but that made no
difference.
