can't down load updates

when i go to microsoft to get up dates after scan i get
error # 0x800a138f has any one come across this before i
e-mail microsoft they it will me 10-11 days before they
get back

I am having the same problem on two different computers
at different sites. I have been working with MS for
about 3 weeks and nothing they have suggested worked.
Let me know if you figure this out.
