I recently built a new PC after the failure of one of my
machines. I reinstalled XP and had to telephone Microsoft
for a new key because it said it had been loaded before,
which it was on the failed machine. After loading the key
from the Microsoft activation center I was able to run
Windows update.
Then 2 days later when booting I received an error and
had to restart windows. No when trying to use Windows
update it goes through the process and just when it has
finished the scan (100% complete) and error screen pops
up with the Widows update error 0x800A138F. Does anyone
know how to correct this. I did send the problem to
Microsoft but it said I probably would not receive a
response.
