Can't do a backup!!!!

Lori K.

Why is it that I cannot do a backup on Windows XP. I am so frusterated. I
always get the same messages When I try to use the CDR discs.**** "You have
either run out of space or the backup file (bkf) is too large for this
disc." "Note if this disc is formatted with FAT32 the max possible size for
the backup file is limited to 4GB." I have always done backups so simply
when I worked for business' but with my own home computer I am stumped.
Please someone help me I need to backup my husband's business files. Please
walk me through the steps to a successful backup. PS I can't even do a
drive A floppy disc backup because I am asked to put a new disc in every 2
minutes because the discs are filling up so fast. Ugggg!!!!Thank you. Lori

If sounds like you're using Windows Backup. The easiest
solution to your problem is have the program put the .bkf file
on your hard drive and then burn it to a CD. Take a look here
for more info:

Windows Backup Does Not Back Up to CD-R, CD-RW, or DVD-R
Devices
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;315255

In order to have Windows Backup place the file directly on a
CD, you need to have packet writing software, such as Nero
InCD, Roxio DirectCD and Sonic DLA, running on your system. I
also suspect that those "business" computers you're referring
to used a backup program other than the one built into Windows.

Good luck
