Can't Disable Automatic Restart from F8 Boot Menu

M

Matt Modica

Hello,

I am helping someone troubleshoot a no-boot problem in a computer. Windows
starts to load, but then restarts. When the F8 boot menu is accessed, there
is no option for disabling the automatic restart.

How can the auto restart be disabled so the BSOD message can be viewed?

Thanks,

You will have to remotely edit the registry. Is the machine on a
network, or can you mount the disk in another Windows XP machine?
