Can't Delete Scheduled Tasks

C

I have a number of scheduled tasks on my Windows XP Professional system
that I can't delete. Also when I add a new scheduled task I can't
delete it. When I try to delete I get the following error message:

Cannot delete DailyBackup: Access is denied. Make sure that the disk
is not full or write-protected and that the file is not currently in
use.

I am currently logged in as an administrator. I've searched and
searched but have not found anything on this problem. Can anyone help?

Thanks,
Corey

I have not had that problem myself but I would try booting into Safe Mode
and check properties/security for the tasks to make sure administrators have
full control. Also verify that you are indeed logged on as an administrator.
You can use the command net localgroup administrators to see members of the
administrators group. If all that checks out but does not work it sounds as
if file/registry permissions may have been modified somewhere along the line
that are restrictive to administrators. You could use secedit as described
in the link below to reset security settings to default defined levels and
if you want only specify the areas you want reset with the /areas
itch. --- Steve
