Can't delete saved messages

There's a bunch of old messages in my mailbox that I can't deleted. When I
try to delete them, I get this message: "errors have been detcted in the
mailbox.pst file". However, I've run the Inbox Repair tool several times,
and it doesn't find any errors.

I'm running Windows XP Professional and Office/Outlook 2000.

Yes, I'm aware of that fix, but my mailbox is only 275M. I'm aware of the
limit of the .pst file size, and I use archive for my mail messages to make
sure the mailbox.pst doesn't get too big.

Any other ideas?
