Can't delete message

Does anyone have an idea on how to delete some "spam" I
received, when I try to open or delete the message I get
the error message "Can't open this item".

No matter what I do (even after upgrading to 2003) I
can't get these two emails out of my mail box.

Any advice would be most appreciated.
 
Clear the Deleted Items folder
Run Compact Now and scanpst.exe in case you are using a pst-file
Use SHIFT+DELETE to remove the message
