Can't delete Hiberfil.sys

Running WindowsXP Professional.
Even though I have have my machine set for always on in the power dialog, I
still have a huge hiberfil.sys file.
Every re-boot it has the current boot time and date. I have been told that I
can perhaps delete it after booting into safe mode and using DOS command line
to delete it.
Anybody have a clue as to how to get rid of it? I need the disk space and do
not care for hibernation.
Thanks,
MN

Having a machine's power options set to always on does not mean that
hibernation is not set too.
Uncheck hibernation on the relevant tab and you should be able to delete the
file.

Remove the check mark and the file will be gone immediately! No need to
delete anything.

The "relevant tab" is in Control Panel/Power Options - Hibernate Tab
Uncheck the "Enable hibernate support", and the file should go away.

I see, I was (stupid of me) assuming the OP could read what was in front of
him when he got there...
