hiberfil.sys

Vista Home Premium on a Gateway Convertible Laptop(Tablet)

I have all my power settings to "Never", never sleep, never turn off, etc.
Yet I cannot delete the hiberfil.sys in the root directory.

XP had an opt out feature for hibernate that would allow this file to be
deleted. I guess MS feels we've gotten too stupid to make that
determination for ourselves in Vista. Just another feature we can't choose
to live without.

Actually, no. I can't delete it because it's use by another program. If I
boot into Safe Made, delete it and reboot, it will just make another one. I
need to turn off the hibernation option.

Hibernation may be 'turned off' but it isn't disabled. To turn off
Hibernation and remove the hiberfil.sys follow the instruction on this link
from my website: http://vistasupport.mvps.org/disable_hibernation.htm

The easiest option is to use the disk cleanup Option
