I have a URL file buried in Favorites which was added by clicking "Add to
favorites" some timne ago. It ended up with an extremely long name. Now it
is undeletable. Here's what I've tried without success.
1. right clicking the file and selecting "delete" - nothng happens
2. Same as above, but going to the folder holding the offending file, and
trying to delete it. I get the message" cannot delete file "filename".
cannot find the specified file. If I hover over the folder, i get a tooltip
"The folder is empty"
3. Opening a DOS window, using CD commands to get to the appropriate
directory - it gets to the next higher level, then tells me there is no
sub-directory.
Short of reformatting the drive, what might I try?
