Can't delete account

I am unable to remove a user account from my computer.
I have made sure nothing from that account is currently
being accessed and so forth, but when I click the final
Delete Account button, the window freezes, and the
account remains. I have tried leaving the computer
running a while but the account is still not removed.
Does anyone have any ideas, anything helps!

Well, I was able to get farther than ever before. Now I
either get a message stating that it cannot complete
operation due to error 80070402 or that it cannot access
a file because it is being used by another process.
I would really like to clean up things and get rid of
this account, so I could really use some help, thanks!
