A file is named com2 but in Properties,it said

"this is not a valid shortcut."

It's embedded in my desktop and has 0 byte size.

Everytime I tried to delete it, it said,

"Cannot delet com2; cannot find a specified file. Make
sure you specify the correct path and file name."

I have no idea what it is and it's there since I had the
pc. My vague guess is it's related to ethernet NIC card
but this thing has no value, size and can't seem to get
rid of it. Help.

Already tried with Kelly's website before coming here.
None of its suggestions worked. Any other ideas or
solution do you have?

You say the file name is com2 and that the file cannot be
found.

Does the file name have an extension? For example, is the
file name (without the quote marks) "com2." or "com2"
or "com2.???" (where the ? stands for a character,
like "com2.exe" or "Com2.dll" or such)

No. No extension at all. It has no description, no
information, nothing when you go to the properties.
Everything is empty with 0 byte size.

Hi,

Check to see if it is listed here, if so, delete it: Start/Run/Regedit

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\
CurrentVersion\Explorer\Desktop\NameSpace
