I have a blank DVD-R in drive E. (Yes, it's capable of burning this type of
DVD.)

I insert it then open up Windows Explorer. When I drag a file to the drive
it says:

Probelm Copying
Windows encountered a problem when trying to copy this file. What do you
want Windows to do?

I've tried several different files and multiple DVDs.

Any ideas?

Thanks.

Windows XP only natively supports CD recording.
You'll need a DVD recording program, such as Nero.

If you're going to drag and drop, you need INCD from the Nero applications.
