My friends been trying for ages to get her laptop connected to her broadband
router supplied by talk talk . She goes through the whole process cd etc only
to get "cannot connect" she's been in touch with the techs at Talk Talk who
have went through setting it up with her and they have had the same thing
"cannot connect" . They told her it must be something to do with MS and to
contact them. She has no other computers only the laptop which was only
bought at xmas Any help would be appreciated

The router may have a wireless security password that must be entered in the
wireless laptop setup. Check the router settings.

I see that Talk Talk offers broadband "for free" if you sign up for one
of their calling plans. Your friend's experience seems to fit the old
adage, "You get what you pay for."

We might be able to help if you supplied the exact make/model of your
friend's broadband modem and router (which may or may not be the same
physical unit as the modem). Is your friend trying to connect
wirelessly or with an Ethernet cable (or with a USB connection)? Also,
try to get the exact text of any error messages.
