I recently had a rash of problems with my pc but manged to
reload XP back on and recovered most items. However when I
go to connect to the interenet I get the message 'Please
install a modem'. I have queried for it, turned it on,
yada yada yada and all is well. Just seems like something
is not linking up. Seems I had the same problem last year
when I got the damn Blaster virus but can't remeber what I
did. Any thoughts? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!

I am assuming you are using dial up for your internet ???
Have you check in the devise manager and see whether its
listed ??? Also take a look at the driver and see whether
you have the latest one ...

Yep did all that stuff. I remember getting a patch for it
last year that did the trick but can't find where I got
it.

Try going into System Properties - Hardware - highlight your modem and
choose uninstall. Reboot and let Windows find it upon boot and then see if
the problem persists.
