Purchased nano 3rd gen a week ago. Since than have been trying unsucessfully to connect it to my laptop running vista premium home (32 bit). Here is the description of the problem:
Apple Ipod USB Device - Appears in Device manager under Disk Drives.
Apple Ipod USB Driver - Appears in Device manager under universal serial bus controller.
USB Mass Storage Device - Appears in Device manager under universal serial bus controller.
Apart from the above in Device Manager, vista still looking for Some "Generic Volume" for which it can't find the driver and hence, its appearing in the device manager under "Other Devices" as "unknown device" with a yellow triangle with ! mark - In the property, it says it not working properly as the driver not installed....
Have iTunes 7.6.x (latest)... Any idea *** is wrong with this and WHY APPLE/MS hasn't addressed this widespread issue yet?
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks
