Can't Close Archive Folder

After attempting to close an inactive archive folder I get the error message
"THE OPERATION FAILED. AN OBJECT COULD NOT BE FOUND." How do I permanently
remove this folder?

File>Data FIle Management may help. Otherwise, remove it from your profile
in Control Panel's Mail applet.

It does not appear in the data file maangment area. Nor doe sit appear in my
profile in the Control Panel's Mail applet Only my personal folders file.
Now what?

Did you ever figure this out? I have the same problem. Personal folder
shows up in outlook but there isn't an entry in the data files location for
it. I can't remove it from the folder list and I can't access it.

I even tried making a copy of a working pst and renaming it to the name the
entry points to but it still doesn't work.

That's a good way to corrupt your mail profile.

The mail file is already corrupt. The only solution I have found is to
create a new profile and relink all the PST's.
