Outlook 2003 Can't close archive folder

G

Guest

I opened an archive folder I had created on another computer and copied to
mine.

I can open the file and see emails etc, but when I wanted to close it - I
right clicked on it and on Close Archive folder - and I get an error message
saying:

"The operation failed - an object could not be found".

I am finished working with this archive folder - how do I close and get rid
of it?

Thanks

Does it show up in Data File Management under the mail Outlook File->menu?

Then create a new mail profile - yours is apparently corrupt - one sure sign
being the inability to close extra .pst files.

How do I then get my existing appointments, contacts and email into the new
profile?

Thanks

Configure your new mail profile to use your current active, not archive,
..pst file.

Have you tried? It is so simple that I think you have not even tried.

Yes I tried. When i right click on my newly created personal folder, there
is no choice to do the pop3 deliver mail to this folder option. I have done
that before though.

Control Panel->Mail Icon->Show Profiles->New. Create a new mail profile and
when asked to specify the personal folders path, point the profile to your
old .pst file... F1 help would have told you this.

I have done that before though.

That option was present only in Outlook 98 and 2000 in Internet Mail Only
mode and hasn't been around since Outlook 2002 came out.
